Information for Master of Advanced Studies Programme

‘ADVANCED VOCAL ENSEMBLE STUDIES’ (AVES) January 2013

We are pleased to be able to announce the next intake for the Master of Advanced Studies diploma in 'Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies' (AVES). This will be the fourth such programme, named 'D' for simple reference, starting September 2013 and we are able to advertise a further such programme starting in September 2014 (known as AVES 'E').

Auditions for AVES 'D' will take place in Basel at the Schola Cantorum on the 12th and 13th March, 2013 and successful applicants will be informed before the end of March. The study programme then begins with its first intensive week 23-27 September 2013. (See below for all 6 weeks' dates in the first year, 2013/14 - specific week dates for the second year will be announced in September 2013 to facilitate long-term planning).

Scholarships:

  • We are able to offer full scholarships covering all tuition fees for 6 of the 12 successful candidates thanks to the generosity of the Maja Sacher Stiftung.

Requirements for audition:

  • Full curriculum vitae (date of birth, places of study, details of examinations, professional experience, vocal ambitions)

  • 10-12 minutesof performance on CD, reflecting contrasting material

  • Photograph

  • Acknowledgement that the advertised programme dates are all appropriate for you

  • Any further information you feel important

AVES 'D', First Year Dates:

AUDITIONS:
12 March 10.00-18.00 (Individual 20 minute auditions, specific time to be confirmed)
13 March 10.00-13.00 (Individual 20 minute auditions, specific time to be confirmed)
13 March 14.00-16.30 (Group Session, reading various madrigals and part-songs. All applicants)

NOTE: Successful applicants will be informed by 31st March, 2013.

SIX WEEKS INTENSIVE STUDY
(from 10.00 on the Monday to 14.00 on the Friday in each week):

Week One: 23-27 September, 2013
Week Two: 14-18 October, 2013
Week Three: 4-8 November, 2013
Week Four: 2-6 December, 2013
Week Five: 20-24 January, 2014
Week Six: 24-28 March, 2014
