Markus Schwenkreis
Improvisation für Tasteninstrumente (Hochschule SCB)
After his studies in Augsburg (Germany) and in Basel (Switzerland), Markus Schwenkreis received a diploma for ancient keyboard instruments from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. His teachers there were Jean-Claude Zehnder (organ, harpsichord) and Rudolf Lutz (improvisation). He won prizes at the international organ competition “NDR-Musikpreis 2000” and at the 13th Paul-Hofhaimer-Wettbewerb of the city of Innsbruck in 2001).
Presently he is teaching at the Schola Cantorum music theory and – together with Emmanuel Le Divellec (Bern), Rudolf Lutz (St. Gallen), Sven Schwannberger (Basel) and Nicola Cumer (Basel) – improvisation for historical keyboard instruments. He is responsible for the organisation of the “Studientage Improvisation“, which are taking place there each year in springtime.
